Active Waterways guided walks with Canal & River Trust

ACTIVE WATERWAYS

Canal and River Trust teamed up with Sport England and Active Cheshire to extend their Active Waterways project to Cheshire residents who who may have been inactive as a result of the coronavirus lockdown.

Physical activity is often looked at as the golden thread capable of solving many of our major national challenges from an ageing population to disconnected communities; a social solution that has the power to bring people together regardless of background, age, gender, ethnicity or religion.

The growth of group exercise in the UK shows that people are increasingly turning to physical activity as a means to provide the much needed social connections and feelings of togetherness important in reducing loneliness.

These fully funded 12 weeks programmes will start week w/c 24th August, both the online and guided walks programmes.
